It’s easy to complain about bad meetings. It’s hard to do something about it.
In 1996 I started my business to do my fair share to make the situation better. This site is my attempt to help you do yours.
I want to develop thousands of meeting heroes who are ready to stand up and save the world from the scourge of lousy meetings. Together, we can change your organization’s meeting practices and develop your meeting leadership skills.
Because you’ve stopped by, I’ll assume you are at least mildly interested in joining my effort.
Here’s the Deal (Most of Which Is Free)
I’ve put most of what I know into my e-book, Meeting Hero. You should buy it. You’ll learn a lot, and I’ll make something for the 18 months I put into writing it.
But I know not everyone’s into reading 80,000 word business books. That’s where this web site comes in.
The site contains my best ideas about how to run productive meetings. It was launched in Fall, 2015. After a couple years of adding to it, I’d like to believe it will become your best source for practical meeting facilitation information. Read it to get:
- How to articles
- Venue and equipment reviews
- Stories from the field
- Answers to questions
- Inspiration to help you build your courage
- Meeting humor, if there is such a thing
It’s unlikely you will remember to keep checking back, so you ought to sign up for email updates. That way you don’t miss an important tip, unless of course you purposely ignore one that ends up in your mailbox. You wouldn’t do that, would you?
Want Some Hands On Help?
Working with you is how we make our living (and justify the time we put into maintaining this site). Here are the meeting related services we provide:
- Meeting facilitation
- Group training
- Executive meeting mentoring
- Culture consulting
- DIY meeting support
If you’re interested in chatting about a meeting challenge you’d like help addressing, contact us. There’s no charge for the initial conversation. We’ll get a sense of your problem and if it looks like we can help, will provide you with a proposal that lays out all the details.
A Little About Me
My name’s Tom LaForce, and I’m the guy behind this site.
Since my college days, I’ve been interested in how people work together and even more curious about when they do not. In 1996 I started a meeting facilitation and training business. After working with thousands of groups, I have come to understand the difference between people who can pull a group together and those who can’t.
For all the details, you can check out my LinkedIn page or my business website. If you do stop by LinkedIn, shoot me a connection request. Odds are that there will come a day when we can be helpful to each other. It’s nice to make those connections before you need them.
